Visited Munich this week!! very good viewing deck here although when using 08 this isn't much use. but when 26 is being used you should get everything even through the slightly curved glass front. price is 2euro but once your on your on only an ice cream stand that doesn't sell drinks or food and toilets! otherwise you have to leave and pay to return. was told that when 08 is in use catch the train get off at the 1st stop and there is a mound there priced 1euro that has good landing views there is a constellation and a hansajet there but there are no facilities what so ever there!

A good day was had without any heavies but plenty of eurotrash to keep you entertained and plenty of bizjets! plenty of Lufthansa 737/330/340/319/320/321/crj's got the entire CRJ900 fleet, also 95% of Air Dolomiti all but 1 Augsburg DHC-8's plus various others including Croatia,CSA,Tarom Atr's well worth a day trip

Hi Steve,

Iv been to MUC a couple of times, the other spot you heard about is called "besucherpark"

it is indeed the first stop from the airport on the train...

when you get off the train you have to walk towards the large mound that you can see for miles, this walk takes about 10 minutes and once your there, there is a large mound which costs 1 euro to go up on, there are some facilities, including a restaurant, toilets, shop and visitor center (all at the bottom and like the viewing deck on T2, you have to pay to return to the mound....)

On top of the mound you can see all the T1 traffic and you are next to the end of runway 08L, so landing shots and line up shots are great - haze can be a problem however.

definatly a recommended place to visit!
